My journey into the hard-boiled world of Mary Kay makeovers continues. What did I see that I couldn’t believe? The answer is in the story below. This is the second installment of a three-part series that you will want to read in order.
Here is Part 1.
Did I mention this is a fundraiser? I don’t get this crazy for free.

Now let’s get back to the story…
“The deal,” Sutton says.”I need you to do the deal.”
“OK, fine, where’s the money? You don’t have the money. Look at this joint. The furniture – the desks. Shabby. Thrift store quality. There’s no money here.”

Where’s the money at the Sooner chapter of the cystic fibrosis foundation? The money’s not in the furniture it’s in the science. The science that will save my son.
“You have it all wrong,” Sutton says to me. The money’s in the science. The science will save your son.”
I started to thaw to the idea.
“The science funds the cure,” Sutton says.
“The cure?” Spiderman Cowgirl Princess says.
“Yeah,” Sutton says, “The cure. The cure to your brother’s disease. C.F. First you do the deal, then you get the mnoey. The deal’s in the back. Mary’s in the back.”
Spiderman Cowgirl Princess runs off.
She works alone. Explores. Observes. Quietly. Carefully. I trained her.
I walk to the back.
“You Mary?”
“No, Lacey.”
Lacey was all sparkle and sunshine.

This former rodeo queen does make-up for Mary Kay and directs over 100 associates. She puts me at ease with her sparkle and sunshine.
She put me at ease.
Then she asked me a question.
A question I couldn’t believe.
“You want me to do what? You want me to do what?”
Congrats, you finished, though I’m sure you’ll be back for Part 3. Now, learn how to win a Moby wrap (UPDATE: CONTEST CLOSED 5/28)
